Tips & tricks
Four levers for better runs: draft cleverly, counter with discipline, time interventions, manage fatigue. Here is what only regulars know.
Draft tips
- Save rerolls for later. Weak pools early are normal — a reroll in round 3 almost never pays. Keep them for rounds 9-11 when a pool structurally fails your open slots.
- Think positions, not names. An 87 out of position (×0.7) is weaker than a 75 specialist. Full-backs can cover wing-back (85%), strikers CAM (85%) — trees fall inward, not sideways.
- The Legends pool is luck, not a plan. Build an XI that works without 90s; icons are the bonus. Five or more legends in one XI unlock an achievement.
- Expert mode: pick 4-4-2 — its roles are the easiest to fill from memory.
Coaching tips
- Discipline beats gut feeling. Almost always pick the counter to the prediction — 80% hit rate over 34 matchdays is a machine. Freestyling costs points.
- Save fresh legs for title matches. Fatigue only bites from win 6 in a row — exactly when key matches arrive. Push/park only with a clear picture.
- Behind at 60'? Always push. +25% attack is the biggest lever in the game. Leading vs Tasmania? Park it — nobody wants the shame card.
- Use home advantage. +2 attack at home — against top teams that is often the difference between a point and a win.
Common mistakes
- Playing the same style every week — the report exists for a reason.
- Ignoring the 20% uncertainty: a countered matchday happens. Don't tilt, the rate is what counts.
- Forcing star wingers into alien roles instead of taking solid specialists.

FAQ
When should I reroll?
Best saved for the last 2-3 draft rounds, when a pool structurally fails your open slots.
Is a star out of position worth it?
Rarely: ×0.7 effective rating eats the edge. Only adjacent spots (×0.85) are defensible.
How do I avoid fatigue?
You don’t — you manage it: save the “fresh legs” intervention for key matches while the streak runs.
